Obituary for Roy Dean Spence
Roy Dean Spence, age 52, of Headrick, Oklahoma was born January 7, 1944, at Altus, Oklahoma, the son of Archie Chester Spence and Susie Catherine (Long) Spence. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Roy died Wednesday, September 11, 1996, east of Headrick, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 1996, in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Navajo Cemetery with services under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

On August 12, 1984, he and Janice Campbell Thornton were united in marriage at Vernon, Texas. Roy worked for Civil Service as a Maintenance Mechanic at Altus Air Force Base. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his Mother, Susie Catherine Spence of Headrick, Oklahoma; his wife Janice Spence of the home; two children, Chad Spence of Blair, OK and Lanny Spence and his wife Angie of Snyder, OK; two step-sons, Trebor Thornton and wife Carrie of Friendship, OK and Dean Thornton and wife Denise, also of Friendship, OK; two brothers, Rayford Spence of Scio, Oregon and Loyd Spence of Headrick, Oklahoma; four sisters, Lucille Dobbs of Geronimo, OK, Joy Fortenberry of Big Springs, TX, Yvonne Arney of Russellville, KY and Billie Patterson of Terre Haute, Indiana; six grandchildren, Takara Spence, Rusty Spence, Kaci Spence, Taylor Thornton, Colton Thornton, and Shelby Thornton.

He was preceded in death by: his Father; his sister, Delories Spence.
