Obituary for Ruth Louise Stone
Ruth Louise Stone, age 92, of Altus, Oklahoma, was born July 3rd, 1904, in the Odema Community of Old Greer County, Texas, Indian Territory in a half dugout to the parents P.C. and Eula Eugene (Mathews) Bell. After their death, when she was nine-years-old, she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Kincannon on a farm south of Olustee, OK. Mrs. Stone passed away Tuesday, September 17th, 1996, in the Quartz Mountain Care Center, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 20, 1996, in the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Boyd Whitehead and Rev. Bill Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
On June 20, 1925,she and Milford Stone were united in marriage at Olustee, OK. He preceded her in death, November 12, 1970. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 37 years.
Survivors include: two children, Gene Stone and wife Linda of Altus, Oklahoma and Frances Davis and husband Olustee, OK; four sisters-in-law, Sammie Kincannon of Olustee, OK, Essie Kincannon of Altus, OK, Caroline Kincannon of Yukon, OK and Madeline Stone of Plainview, TX; six grandchildren, Brent Stone of Blair, OK, Shelly Breeze of Altus, OK, Kelly Preston of Oklahoma City, OK, Kevin Atchison of Melbourne, FL, Marla Atchison of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jay Atchison of Olustee, OK; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her foster parents; four foster brothers and three sisters.
