Obituary for Sam Taylor
Mr. Sam Taylor, age 92, former long time resident of Altus, and for the last year residing in Sunray, Texas, died Friday at St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral services will be held in Sunray at 11:00 A.M., Monday morning, arrangements by Morrison Funeral Directors. Altus services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by the Reverend C.C. Gober. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born March 15th, 1886 in Marjeyoun, Syria, he came to this area at an early age, was a retired farmer, having moved to Sunray approximately one year ago to be near relatives. He was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Rosa of the home in Sunray; two sons, Gene and Gordon Taylor of Sunray; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Young of Ft. Worth, TX, Miss Marjorie Taylor of the home, Mrs. Sandra Arrington of Sunray, TX and Miss Brenda Taylor of the home; two brothers, Albert and George Taylor both of San Paul, Brazil; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
