Obituary for Sarah Ellen McAlister
Mrs. Sarah Ellen McAlister, age 90, Eldorado, died Monday at Quanah Hospital following an extended illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 P.M., in the Eldorado First Baptist Church officiated by Dr. W. E. Norman of Quanah and assisted by the Reverend Earnest Boswell of Goodlett, TX. Burial will be Thursday with graveside services at 2:00 P.M. in the Colfax Cemetery, Van, TX. The body will lie in state in Lowell-Richardson Memorial Chapel until service time.
Born September 25th, 1880 in Walden, Arkansas, she married the late John G. McAlister in October, 1898. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldorado.
Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Nadine Denton of Eldorado, Mrs. Curtis Phillips of Goodlett, TX and Mrs. George Johnson of Kingman, AZ; a son, J. B. McAlister of Van, TX; one brother, Mr. M. L. Scroggins of Vernon, TX; a sister, Mrs. Callie Hollis of Sherman, TX; fifteen grandchildren.
