Saturnino Perez, age 83, of Altus, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 10, 2013, at English Village Nursing Center, in Altus.
Mr. Perez was born in Cotulla, Texas on November 29, 1929, to Lorenzo and Luz (Aguilar) Perez. As a small child, he moved to Big Wells, Texas. He later lived in Chicago where he built and painted baby cribs for many years. In 1982 he and Olga moved to Jackson County where he retired and lived the remainder of his life. A through and through Cubs baseball fan, Saturnino loved watching the Cubs and fishing in his spare time.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, he is survived by his wife Olga, of the home; twelve children, Dora Quintero of Big Wells, Texas, Saturnino Perez, Jr., of Big Wells, Grace Casillas of Big Wells, Zenida Quintero of Big Wells, Juan Manuel Perez of Big Wells, Norma Espinosa of Orange Grove, Texas, Juan Alberto Perez of Chicago, Lorenzo Perez of Austin, Texas, Victor Perez of El Paso, Texas, Freddy Perez of Altus, Ruben Perez of Lubbock, Texas and Sylvia Soto of Orange Grove, Texas; one sister, Celia Reyes of Altus; one brother, Lorenzo Perez, Jr., of Olustee; one hundred thirty grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Saturnino Perez will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Big Wells, Texas Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus and Leonard Funeral Home of Carrizo Springs, Texas.
