Obituary for Seth Morrow Huntley

Seth Morrow Huntley, age 74, of Altus, Oklahoma, died early Thursday morning at the Altus AFB Hospital. Funeral services have been set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, June 4, 1988 at the First Presbyterian Church of Altus. Officiating will be The Reverend Dean Robinson and assisting will be The Reverend Glenwood Busbee of Anadarko. Interment will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home. Full Military Honors will be performed by the Altus AFB Honor Guard.

Born August 27th, 1913 at Sweetwater, OK, he was the son of Dr. and Mrs. A. A. Huntley. His early life was in Sweetwater. He moved with his family to Elk City, OK in 1923. He attended the Elk City schools, graduating from Elk City High School in 1933. He entered, as a volunteer, into the Air Mechanics School of the Army-Air Corps in June 1941. He married Jewel Dean Sutton December 15, 1941 at the Aloe AFB in Victoria, TX. Mr. Huntley remained in the Air Force for 30 years retiring on January 1, 1971. He had lived in Altus since 1963. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder.

Survivors include: his wife, Jewel, of the home; three children, Pamela L. Hurst, Seth M. Huntley, Jr. and Arthur A. Huntley II; nine grandchildren, Mark and Gary Glenncross, Beth and Lora Huntley, Leslie, Tiffany and Courtney Hurst and Sara and Allen Huntley; one brother, Donald A. Huntley of Elk City, OK.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Dr. and Mrs. A. A. Huntley; a sister, Lena B. Huntley; twin granddaughters.

Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the Memorial fund of the First Presbyterian Church.
