Sherry Lea Gray, age 58 of Hollis, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her home in Hollis. Sherry was born May 4, 1961 in Hollis, Oklahoma to David and Barbara (Sampier) Ewing. She was raised in Arizona and Texas before settling in Hollis and graduated from Hollis High School. Sherry was baptized on May 29, 1977 at the First Baptist Church of Hollis. Sherry also worked for Hart's Variety Store, Dixon- Kirchoff and Stockman's Bank in Gould, Oklahoma before pursuing her passion of being a stay at home mother two her two daughters. Later, she attended college in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was studying to be a paralegal, finishing at the top of her class. She was then chosen by a large law firm in Tulsa to intern where she continued to work for a time. Sherry was one of the strongest people we know also one of the most stubborn. She was one of the best mothers any little kid could have asked for. She was the type of mother you could count on to do anything you needed. She loved to cook for her children and was always very patient with them. She enjoyed reading to her two daughters and then grandson Zane, who was very special to her. Sherry was a self taught cook who was famous for her homemade sugar cookies. She was one of the sweetest, kindest people anyone could know. She went through many surgeries from the age of twelve on, she always handled these procedures with strength and grace. She battled many illnesses and hardships in her life but always pressed on with a smile. Her family is at peace knowing that she is now healed from her pain and free forevermore. She was preceded in death by her father David Ewing, grandparents Earl and Faye Sampier, Warren and Mary Ewing. Sherry is survived by her mother Barbara Ewing, two daughters; Lea Gray, Jessie Gray; grandson Zane Gray; two sisters; Ronda Ewing, Tamela Allen; nephews Colton Hays, Kurt Gray; Niece Ashley Ramirez; Uncle Gary Dean Sampier, Cousins; Shay Lyn Taylor, Tepney Lambden.
