Sidney Douglas Stroup age 75, of Altus, Oklahoma died May 8, 1967 at Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Sidney was born August 14, 1891 in McKinney, Texas. He married Artie Mae Parks October 22, 1910. He had been a resident of Southwest Oklahoma since 1924. He was a member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ.
Funeral services for Sidney Douglas Stroup are scheduled for Wednesday, May 10 at 2 pm in the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ, Altus, officiated by Wallace Gooch. Burial will follow in the City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Sidney Douglas Stroup is survived by his wife Artie Mae of the home in Altus; five daughters, Mrs. E. K. Slaven, California; Mrs. Ira Pirtle, Vancouver, Washington; Mrs. Wray Sandow, Clovis, California; Mrs. Elsie Cummings, San Francisco, California; Mrs. Earnest King, Altus, Oklahoma; one son, Sidney Stroup, Midwest City, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Stroup, McKinney, Texas, Levi Stroup, Oak Cliff, Texas; Bub Stroup, Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Ethel Word, Midland, Texas; Hattie Sorne, Olney, Texas.
