Obituary for Silverene Ruby Webb
Silverene Ruby Mayo Webb, age 93, passed away Friday, January 28th, 2011, at the College Park Rehab Center in Weatherford, Texas.
Silverene was born December 27, 1917, in Post, Texas, to William and Velma (Rowe) Mayo. She was raised in Hollis where she lived for many years. She raised her own nine children in Hollis and then moved to Duke in the mid-1970's before moving to Altus. She worked in the laundry for English Village Nursing Home in Altus for many years. She loved quilting, traveling, and visiting with her family. She kept a large collection of pictures from all her travels and family get-togethers. These pictures will be enjoyed by all the family for years to come.
She is survived by nine children: Shirley Ann Bustos and husband Daniel of Duke, Oklahoma, Jimmy Doyal Webb and wife Carolyn of Tyler, Texas; Sylvia Jean Weightman and husband Kenneth of Clinton, Oklahoma, Ruby Fern Earls of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Sandra Kay Carroll of Tyler, Texas, Nevia Joyce Brown and husband Tom of Weatherford, Texas, Deborah Carol Lighty of Mansfield, Texas, Jerry Lynn Webb of Hollis, Oklahoma, and Nancy Karen Alderson and husband Rusty of Waller, Texas; one brother, Boyce Mayo and wife Fern of Lawton, Oklahoma; twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, and one son-in-law.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 30, 2011, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 31, 2011, at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
