FRAZIER
Stephen Gene Frazier was born June 1,1950 in Altus,OK. Steve passed
away on July 25,at his sister's home in Norman,OK. after a long illness.
His mother was Wanda Joye (Roden )Frazier and his father was Gene Frazier.
Steve attended Altus Public Schools graduating from Altus High School in
1969. Steve served as a manager for the Altus Bulldogs football team while
in high school.
After high school graduation Steve attended Central State University now
known as the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond,Ok. Steve received
his BS degree in psychology in 1973. While attending Central State Steve
was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity as an active member and
officer. After receiving his degree Steve began a career in the medical
profession that would last until a serious illness forced him into an early
retirement in 2005. Steve was a certified respiratory therapist.
In 1972 Steve married Becky Edmiaston his high school sweetheart. They were
divorced in 1975. Steve married Theresa Stark in 1980 in Stillwater and
from this marriage were born two sons, Stephen Scott and John Michael. Steve
and Theresa were divorced in 1992. On January 16, 1998 Steve married Hyla
Collins in Oklahoma City.
Steve was one of the nicest people a person would want to know. He never
spoke ill of anyone and would go out of his way to help anyone. Steve was
a die hard Oklahoma Sooner supporter. He loved his Sooners. Steve was proud
to be from Oklahoma. He also liked to go arrowhead hunting in his spare
time and was an avid golfer until his illness.
Steve is survived by his sister Robyn Briscoe and her husband Brent of
Norman,OK. His son Stephen Scott Frazier and his wife Breann of Tulsa,OK.
Steve is also survived by his two grandchildren Hailey Jean and Michael
Scott Frazier also of Tulsa,OK. His two nephews,Kevin and Jeremy Briscoe of
Norman,his aunt and her husband Joe and Claudine Bacon of Vernon,TX and his
beloved cousin Patty Fields Owen of Amarillo,Texas. One stepson,Blake
Griffin and his wife Amanda of Broken Arrow,OK. and one stepdaughter,Amber
Starr and her husband Kevin of Tulsa,OK.
Steve was preceeded in death by his mother Wanda Joye Frazier,his
father,Bobby Gene Frazier one son John Michael Frazier and a brother Scotty
Frazier who died at birth. His grandmother Eva Fuqua and her husband Ed and
his other grandparents J V Smallings and Nell Smallings.
The family will greet friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus with a Graveside service following at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the City Cemetery in Altus with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
