Thelma Faye Stout



Thelma Faye Stout, age 95 of Altus, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center of Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Stout was born on July 22, 1911 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Thomas Francis and Ida May (Blundell) Vaughn. Moving to Southwest Oklahoma from California in the lat 1940's, she and her husband, Glen, began farming with his dad. After Glen's death in 1984, Thelma continues the farming operation for several years. An active member of the First United Methodist Church, Thelma enjoyed playing Canasta at any opportunity, was president of her flower club, learned the game of golf at age fifty and was very good at the game and was a longtime member of the Elks Golf and Country Club of Altus.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Barbara Jean Sanders in 1997, one sister and three brothers, she is survived by three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a son-in-law, and many other relatives and friends.
