Obituary for Thelma Jewell Gorham
Thelma Jewell Gorham, age 76, passed away February 2, 2005 at Plantation Village Nursing Center.
She was born to Jim and Mandy Young on July 28, 1928 in Velma, Oklahoma.
Thelma married William Clearance Gorham on January 5, 1967 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and attended regularly until moving to Plantation Village Nursing Center. William and Thelma shared a unique king of love for each other. There wasn't anything tat Bill wouldn't do to make her happy, including going to Burger King for her favorite French toast sticks for breakfast. He was always there for during her illnesses and took special care of her.
Thelma is survived by her husband, William Clearance Gorham of 38 years, three daughter; Darlene Martin and husband Earl of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Janet Sue Schwemley and Husband Glenn of Carney, Oklahoma, Monica r\Renee Willingham and husband James of Altus, Oklahoma, one son Jerry Wayne Harris and wife Katherine of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two step-daughters; Karen Berry and Brenda Duke both of Texas, one brother Lawrence Young and wife Willie Mae of Madill, Oklahoma and fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister; Marie Britt and one brother; Junior Young.
Services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 2:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Under direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
