Obituary for Theresa Anne Brotherton
Theresa Brotherton, 77, of Altus, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Bridges Plantation Village Care Center in Altus.
Theresa was born September 2, 1933, in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Joseph William and Elizabeth Beatrice (Scott) Tempfer. She worked as a teller at First State Bank in Altus for many years. Theresa's special interests included reading, travel, sewing, and cooking.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles William Brotherton, and two brothers, John Tempfer and Joe Tempfer, Theresa is survived by one son, Gary Brotherton and fianc"e Terri Lindgren-Melicia and family of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Karen Brotherton Draper and husband John of Blair, Oklahoma; one step-son, William Dale Brotherton of Cullowhee, North Carolina; granddaughters, Alysa, Sara, Emma, and Kayla; a very special companion, Gail Miller of Altus; and friends who were like family, Kathy Hale of Altus and Jeanine and Brad Berrong and their sons, Jeffrey and Michael Berrong of Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services for Theresa Brotherton will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2011, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Altus with Reverend George Lupton and Reverend Bruce Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
