Funeral service for Therol Nell, 85, Hollis, Oklahoma will be at the Church of Christ, Hollis, Oklahoma on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with Mark Lance and Robert Garton officiating.
Burial will be at the Fairmount Cemetery, Hollis, Oklahoma under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nell passed away at Harmon Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
Therol Nell was born to Forrest and Verna (Daggs) Motley in Hollis, Oklahoma on February 25, 1930. Therol graduated from Hollis High School in 1948 and went on to receive her Bachelors’ Degree in Education from Baylor University. She married W.B. "Dub" Nell in her parents’ home, Hollis on November 25, 1954. Therol taught school at Hollis for many years. She was a member of the Chapter "O" P.E.O. Sisterhood, '51 Sorosis and a member of the Board at Great Plains National Bank. She was a past member of the Library Board, Community Action Board, City Council and the Mayor of Hollis, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Hollis. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and photography; and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna and Forrest Motley; her in-laws, Bryan and Crystal Nell; sisters and brothers -in-law, Sybil and Gene Francis, and Wilma Jean and Roland Kromer; brother-in-law, Norman Williams; and one grandchild, Joseph Nell.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, W. B. “Dub†Nell, Jr. of the home; her children, Susan Collier of Augusta, Arkansas, Myra and husband Steve Kuchel of Tulsa, and Steven Nell and wife Malisa of Tulsa; ten grandchildren, Winston Collier and wife Gentry, Stuart Collier and wife Sarah Boyce, Alex Collier and wife Katy, Andrew Kuchel, Jeff Kuchel, Forrest Nell, Emma Nell, Stefani Nell, Sara Nell, and Natalie Nell; her great grandchildren, Vivian and Corinne Tomlinson, Mary Motley, Win, Presley, Estelle, Avery, and Liza Collier; her sister, Marsha and husband Dave Dickinson; her Motley sister/cousins, Betty Motley, Charlene Copeland, and Monette Cole; sisters-in-law, Wanda Faye Williams and Geraldine Carrick; brothers-in-law, Warren Nell and wife Shirley and G. Q. Nell and wife Donna; numerous nieces, nephews, and fortunate people that she treated with great generosity whose lives were changed by her love and support.
