Thomas was born to Tom C. and Allene Robinson on March 28, 1968, in Fort Worth, TX. Thomas graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1986. He married Michelle McBride at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, TX. on July 30, 1988.
Thomas served as a fire fighter for the U.S. Air Force from 1992 to 1996 at Altus AFB. After that he was in the Air National Guard for a year and a half at Lambert-St. Louis IAP, MO before returning to Altus AFB in Oklahoma as a DOD civilian fire fighter in 1998. He transferred to Ft. Knox, KY in 2009 for two years before again returning to Altus AFB, OK in 2011. In August 2012 he retired with a medical disability. Thomas wasn't happy unless he was busy working.
