Obituary for Tomas C. Rodriguez
Tomas C. Rodriguez, age 47 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away August 6, 2003 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services are set for 10:00 am Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. The rev. Joe Tovar will officiate and interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. A prayer service is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Friday evening at the Lowell-Tims Chapel.
Tommy was born September 8, 1955 at Victoria, Texas to parents Fabian and Maria Rodriguez. At an early age, the family moved to the Altus area. Tommy attended school at Altus and on August 30, 1974 was united in marriage to Margarita Maldonado at Vernon, Texas. He was an employee of the City of Altus, where he worked in maintenance at the Water Department. In recent years Tommy had worked at the City Landfill. He was a member of the Templo Sinai Spanish Assembly of God Church and was active in the music ministry. Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family and going, fishing with his grandson, Steven.
He was preceded in death by his father; one grandson, Ryan Isaac Basaldua; son-in-law, Esequiel "Junior" Basaldua, step-brother, Amando Riojas and his grandparents. Survivors include Tommy's wife, Margarita of the home; his mother, Maria Rodriguez of Altus; three daughters, Christina Basaldua, Tomasita Rodriguez and Jessica Rodriguez all of Altus; five sisters, Irene Rodriguez, Kathleen Rodriguez, Maia Garcia, Lori Garcia, Janie Izquierdo, two brothers, Fabian Rodriguez Jr and Pedro Rodriguez; one grandson, Steven Basaldua of Altus and many other relatives and friends.
