Obituary for Tommy Wayland Miller
Tommy W. Miller, 70, of Altus, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 3, 2011, after a long battle with cancer at his home, with his loving family by his side.Tommy was born March 31, 1941, in Munday, Texas, to Tom Andrew and Zelma Anneta (Varner) Miller and was one of three sons.  He married Sheri Fogle August 19, 1975, in Vernon, Texas.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many people.  He loved his various occupations through the years working in the oil fields, working as a mechanic, and most recently, driving a truck for Southwest Dedicated Transport in Altus.Preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Zelma Miller; two brothers, Bobby and Danny; one grandson, Cory Sterling; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Sheri Miller of the home in Altus; seven children, Terry Miller of Wayne, Oklahoma, Shelly Miller of Wayne, Dusty and Mike McAlexander of Mangum, Chad Miller of Helena, Oklahoma, Tommy, Jr. and Kandi Miller, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Andy and Wendy Miller of Altus, Brandi and Carl Edwards, also of Altus; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend who was his first wife, Alice Bast, the mother of Terry, Shelly, and Dusty; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Everyone in his life will miss him deeply, especially his long-time companion, little dog Shasa.The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 5, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.Funeral Services for Tommy Miller will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Pastor Shawn Laughlin officiating.  Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.On line tributes may be made to the family at www.Lowell-Tims.com
