Toy Ann Lewis, age 67, of Altus, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Mrs.Lewis was born on February 18, 1940, to Harrison and Etoy (McKenzie) Thurmond at Altus. As a child, she attended Ozark School and later graduated from Altus High School in 1958. After graduation she moved to Texas for a short time before returning to Jackson County. On July 24, 1961, she married Kenneth Lewis in Vernon, Texas and they spent forty-six wonderful years together before her death. Throughout her life, she enjoyed mountain climbing, painting, working in her garden and yard, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents and a special aunt and uncle, Odell and Raliegh Wilson, she is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; two sons, Kenny Lewis of Altus and Chris Lewis of Norman; three brothers, Keith Thurmond and wife Jane of Elmer, Harry (Butch) Thurmond and John
Thurmond and wife Gail of Elmer, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Toy Lewis will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
The family will greet friends on Monday, September 24, 2007, from 6 until 7 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
