Obituary for Velma Violet Anderson
Velma Gilchrist Anderson, age 82, life long resident of Jackson County, passed away Sunday night at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Services have been set for Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from Blair First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Everett Smalts. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery un der the directikon of Lowell Funeral Home.

Born August 28, 1907 at Blair, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of James and Grace Norris. She attended Midway School graduating in 1926. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Warren Baptist Church. She married John W. Gilchrist on June 19, 1926. He died March 3, 1972. Later she married Marshall Greer Anderson on May 17, 1978 and he preceded her in death May 5, 1989.

Survivors include: one son, Stanford Ennis Gilchrist of Crowley, Texas; one daughter, Madge Williams, also of Crowley, Texas; one stepson, Lawrence Anderson of Blair, Oklahoma; two sisters, Vera Pollard of Mangum, OK and Helen Newsom of Sulphur, OK. Also surviving are six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
