Vickie Lynn Cooley, 67, resident of Dale, Oklahoma, passed away on January 31, 2025. Vickie was born on June 19, 1958, in Altus, Oklahoma, to James David Martin and Marjorie (Laughlin) Martin. She graduated from Sentinel High School in 1977.
On October 15, 1977, Vickie married the love of her life, Gary Cooley, in Mangum, Oklahoma. Their marriage was one of deep devotion and love, and together they were blessed with two children, Travis and Amanda. Family was always at the center of Vickie’s life, and she took great pride in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Vickie worked for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections from 2001 until her retirement in 2013. She was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and quiet determination. Outside of work, Vickie found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with her grandchildren, watching her favorite murder mystery shows, and gathering with family. She had a warm heart, a steady presence, and a love that made those around her feel safe and cared for.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Cooley; her father, James Martin; and her brother, David Martin.
Left to honor and cherish her loving memory is her mom, Marjorie Martin; her son, Travis Cooley and wife Rachel; daughter, Amanda Beltran; brother, Greg Martin and wife Terri; grandchildren, Preston and Lola Cooley, Zoey Beltran, Ricky Beltran, and Isabella Beltran; nephews, Nephews Greg Martin, Tadd Martin, Zach Martin, James Martin, Noah Martin, Luke Martin and Sean Osborne; Nieces Kylie Ramirez, Jaysha Martin, Justice Martin, Brionna Martin, and Cali Martin. Along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Vickie’s legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
