Obituary for Viola Roverta Henderson
Roverta Marquart Daffron Henderson, 95, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013, at Cedar Creek Nursing Center in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born September 1, 1917, in Duke, Oklahoma to John Grover and Kittie (Evans) Marquart. She attended school at Prairie Hill where she graduated High School in 1936. In 1937, she married Otis Daffron and during their twenty-nine years of marriage, they had three beautiful children, Freda Ann, Betty and Duane. In 1966, Otis Daffron, went to live in a better place in God"s Country.
Eight years later Roverta married, Albert K. Henderson on August 16, 1974. The couple enjoyed each other"s company for seventeen years, before he passed away, on January 1, 1992.
Roverta was a member of the Prairie Hill Methodist Church before it closed and then became a member of United Methodist Church of Duke. She had always been a homemaker; she loved to garden, enjoyed her flowers, and she loved to make quilts and crochet by hand. Roverta will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Roverta is survived by her grandchildren, Steven Ratzlaff and wife Shari of Scott City, Kansas; granddaughter, Dara Daffron Trent, and her husband Josh of Hammon, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Collin and Clarrisa Ratzlaff, Harper and Kooper Trent; step great grandchildren, London and Talon Trent. Nephew, Jerry Marquart and his wife Karla. Nieces, Vida Hamar and husband Jerald, Wydon Warren and husband Troy; and very dear friends, Debbie McKee and her husband Robert Gathers.
She was proceded in death by her parents, her son Duane Daffron, her daughters Freda Ratzlaff and Betty Daffron and brother Gilbert Marquart.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Praire Hill Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Memorials in honor of Roverta may be made to the Prairie Hill Cemetery in Duke, Oklahoma.
