Violet Ester Moffett, 67, passed away Sunday, July 9, 1995, after an extended illness. Violet was born May 6, 1928, in Hydetown, Pennsylvania to Orrin and Clair "Willis" Deeter. She married Kenneth Moffett in Bohham, Texas. They came to the Altus area in 1971.
Violet worked as a seamstress for the Kellwood Company from 1974, until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Violet was a special individual. She was kind and loving to everyone. She always had something kind to say about everyone and always had a smile on her face. Violet was a dear friend to many people and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Moffett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Moffett; four brothers, John, William, Alfred, and Orin Alton Deeter; three sisters, Margaret Allen, Jeanny Mills, and Lois Khein; and by one son-in-law, Clarence Kelso.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Carroll J. and Mary Mahew of Duke, and William and Bonnie Maheu of Port Orchard, Washington; one daughter, Linda Kelso of Altus; two step-sons, Richard Bulgar and Robert Calladine, Jr. both of Texas; three sisters, Edna Zelasco of Meadville, Pa., Edith Walker of Cochranton, Pa., and Oleta Allen of Altus; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
