Obituary for Virginia W. McAskill
Virginia (Minor) McAskill died February 22nd, 1998 at her home in Altus, Oklahoma.

She was born December 23rd, 1916 to F.W. Minor and Elizabeth Virginia (Taylor) Minor at Altus, Oklahoma. She graduated from Altus High School and attended college in Chickasha. She married William D. (Bill) McAskill February 9, 1941 at Altus. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

They moved to Oklahoma City in 1967 where she worked at the Veteran's Hospital until her retirement. She moved back to Altus in 1995.

She is survived by: four children, Sharon and Wayne Marlow of Blair, Marsha and Temple Kirby of Altus, Dale and Beth McAskill of Purcell and Don and Donna McAskill of Three Rivers, TX; seven grandchildren, Carol Briscoe of Gulf Shores, AL, Jerry Marlow of Lexington, Paul and Kevin Kirby of Altus, Karen Harwick and Joy Edwards of Purcell and Dan McAskill of Yakima, WA; six great grandchildren; a twin sister, Elizabeth McAskill of Altus; another sister, Martha Surbaugh of Spokane, WA and a brother, Sherod Minor of CA; many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Parkinson's disease research of Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24th, 1998 at Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
