Obituary for Virgle Lee Payne
Virgle Lee Payne age 86 former Olustee resident passed away Sunday, October 31, 1999 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born November 27, 1912 at Dawson, Texas to Richard Lee and Beulah walls Payne.

He farmed in the Olustee area for many years before moving to Altus. He married Evelyn Simpson June of 1930. In this union of marriage three children were born, Esward, Claud and LaVonne. Evelyn preceded him in death August 7, 1953. He later married Anna Mae (Chadwick) Mobley June 19, 1957 in Vernon, Texas; one child was born Connie Payne. Anna preceded him in death August 7, 1996. Vrigle served with the United States Army during world War II. He was a longtime member of the Baptist Church.

funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, November 4, 1999 at 2:00pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C.W. Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

he is survived by eight children, Claud Lee Payne and wife Daphne of McDavid, Florida, LaVonne Hansen and husband Tom of Los Angeles, California, Connie Payne and wife Sue of Altus, Oklahoma, Beverly Ivy and Husband Gene of Aumsville, Oregon, gayle and husband Doyle of Stephenville, Texas, Dale Johnson and wife Judy of Zepher Hills Florida, Ronnie Mobley and wife Tammy of Olustee, Oklahoma, Alton Mobley and LaQuita of Granite, Oklahoma; thirty-two grandchildren and fifty-one great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Evelyn Payne, second wife Anna Mae Payne, one brother , two sisters, three sons.
