Vonne Grace Salmons
Vonne Grace Salmons, age 96 passed away Sunday February 7, 2000 at Quartz Mountain Care Center. She was born November 6, 1903 in Risen, Arkansas to Tom and Suzana Grace. Vonne had lived in the Altus community for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus.
She is survived by one sister, Ann Gertrude Horton of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two grandsons, Dr. David Allen Cross of Augusta, Georgia, and Larry Joe Cross of Houston, Texas; one nephew, Charles Clark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; she is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Vonne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur "Fish" Salmons; one son, Billy Gene Earls; three sisters, Ola Ross, Vestal Clark, and Opal Payne, also one brother, Tom Grace; a niece, Mary Jo Copeland and one nephew, Wayne Clark.
Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
