Wanda June Ford Briscoe
Wanda June Ford Briscoe passed away on March 6, 2012 in Oklahoma City. She was born June 15, 1924 in Altus to Leonard L. and Vira Jane Ford. She was the third of seven children. She married the love of her life, Lonnie Briscoe, on January 9, 1943 in Hollis. During World War II, she worked in a welding factory in Los Angeles, California while her husband was serving his country. Following the war, she and Lonnie returned to Oklahoma and settled in Altus where they raised two daughters and were life-long members of the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, but her greatest love was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. She will forever be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; 2 brothers, Jack Ford and Ted Ford; and two sisters, Doris Watson and Jane Doughten.
Survivers include her daughters, Fredda Morgan and her husband Major General Joe P. Morgan of Edmond, Shelley Myatt-Studebaker and her husband Dr. Kent Studebaker of Edmond; brothers, Mickey Ford and his wife Charlene of Tulsa, and Glen Ford of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Amy Wagner Collins and her husband Chris of Edmond, Laura Engel and her husband Jeff of Edmond, Trey Richards and his wife Catherine of Dallas, Texas; Jill Myatt of Dallas, Texas; and Matt Myatt of Edmond, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Jack Wagner, Austin Engel, and Avery Engel of Edmond.
Funeral services for Wanda June Ford Briscoe are scheduled for 2:00pm Friday, March 9, 2010 at the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ officiated by Tom Bailey. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
