ROBERTSON

Wanda Jene Robertson began life on February 3, 1957, in Altus, Oklahoma. She began her eternal life on Sunday, June 8, 2014, after 57 years, 4 months, and 5 days on this planet after a courageous battle with cancer.

Wanda was born in Altus, Oklahoma on February 3, 1957, to Jonathan Conway (JC) and Ada R. (Yutzy) Robertson. Attending Altus schools for twelve years, Wanda graduated from Altus High School in 1975. Wanda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Science from Cameron University in 1980 and a Masters of Education degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1983. Wanda taught school for 8 years in Gotebo, Oklahoma and Vici, Oklahoma. Lawton, Oklahoma was her home for many years. Wanda had a 25 year career with Civil Service at Ft. Sill where she was a Maintenance Assistant for the Maintenance Division of the Logistics Readiness Center. When her health began to decline in 2014, Wanda moved to Mansfield, Texas to be near her family. A longtime member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ, in Altus, and the Sullivan Village Church of Christ, in Lawton, Wanda was very involved in her church work. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting Star Trek memorabilia, sewing, and embroidering. Wanda will be remembered for her love of God and family and her wonderful, quirky sense of humor.
