Obituary for Wanda Lee Holdridge
Wanda Lee Ketchum Holdridge
Wanda Lee Ketchum Holdridge passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 18th in Austin, Texas, at the age of 85. A long time resident of Oklahoma City and Altus, Wanda had blessed her daughter and family by permanently moving to Austin in August 2003. Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was an inspiration to all of us with her independent and resilient attitude toward life, her sense of humor and her commitment to family.
Wanda was born October 23, 1920, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Gus and Ethyle Ketchum. She married Curtis James Holdridge June 26, 1943, in Altus. Their joyful union during the turbulent days of WW II was another link among the Ketchums, Youngbloods, Holdridges, and Schnorrenbergs, who were old community family friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Holdridge on 1968, her parents Gus and Ethyle Ketchum, and her parents-in-law Ben and Anna Holdridge.
She is survived by her brother Roy and his wife Aurea Ketchum, of Venezuela and their children and their families Denise Briseno, Roy Ketchum, and John David Ketchum; and her sister and best friend, Marianne Prater, Of Bowie, Texas, and her children and their families, Pam Harmon and Wes Prater.
Wanda also leaves behind five loving children, Curt and Margaret Holdridge, Tulsa, OK, Don and Glenda Holdridge, Sachse, TX, Marilee and Jeff Blackwelder, Austin, Texas, Rick Holdridge, Fort Worth, TX, and Tom Holdridge, Austin Texas; eleven grandchildren, twelve great- grandchildren and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
