Weldon Dwane Moore, age 80, of Altus, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2013, at his residence northeast of Altus.
Mr. Moore was born in Bonham, Texas on May 31, 1932, to George and Beatrice Moore. Living in several different locations due to his father"s job, Weldon began driving a truck and moved to Amarillo during the 1950"s. While living in Amarillo, he married Chloe Beth Stephens on August 26, 1956, and she preceded him in death on February 2, 1995. In 1973, the family moved to their farm, northeast of Altus, where he lived until his death. Working as a carpenter for many years, Weldon also owned and operated Moore"s Feed Store. In his spare time, Weldon enjoyed raising rabbits and hogs, but his favorite hobby was raising and fighting roosters.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Wayne Moore and David Moore; two sisters, Alice Perry and Ruby Franks and two brothers, Tommy Moore and Floyd Moore, he is survived by two children, Ross Moore and wife Jo of Cordell and Chistine Buckley and husband Doug of Newcastle, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, William Moore of Enid, Tommy Moore and wife Amber of Olustee, Dakota Moore of Blair and Cash Buckley of Newcastle, Pennsylvania; five great grandchildren, Anthony Moore, Kayden Moore, Landon Moore, Allisyn Moore and Alyssa Moore; two sisters, Betty Duncan and Wanda Sweeny along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Weldon Moore will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Lowell-Tims Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Gould Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
