Obituary for Wendall Dewayne Adams
WENDALL DEWAYNE ADAMS
Wendall Dewayne Adams , 85, Nicoma Park, Oklahoma passed away Monday, July 3, 2006, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He lived and fared in the Headrick area for many years before moving to Nicoma Park.
He was born April 6, 1921 in Headrick, Oklahoma to John Elmore Adams and Ella Winnie Adams. On July 12, 1942 in Hobart, Oklahoma, Dewayne and Winnie Mae Barker were united in marriage. She preceded him in death, July 16, 1983.
After retiring from farming he found many hobbies that he enjoyed, especially making monuments for cemeteries and the annual trips to seven cemeteries and fifty-one grave sites where he placed flowers and flags on the graves. He also enjoyed raising birds and designing lawn statues; and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by four sons, Jerry Adams and wife Alice of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Richard Adams and wife Barbara of Headrick, Oklahoma, Tommie Adams and wife Evelyn of Midwest City Oklahoma, Billy Adams and wife Sharyn of Midwest City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Robin Merlene Adams, three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services for Dewayne Adams are Scheduled for Friday, July 7, 2006, at 10:00 am in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Park Cemetery in Mt. Park, Oklahoma under the direction of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends Thursday evening July 6, 2006, 6 - 7 pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
