Wilbur Eugene (Wag) Wagoner


Wag Wagoner was born September 4, 1913 at Montecito,, California. He was the son of the late Jess and Nora (Lyles) Wagoner. He died June 6, 2000 in Altus, Oklahoma.

Wag was raised in the Ozark Community. He graduated fro Ozark High School. He was stationed in England during World War II. He received six Bronze Stars and the Distinguished Unit Badge during his service.. He retired from Liberty National Bank where he served as vice President in l974. He returned to Altus after his retirement and did volunteer work at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital and as dispatcher for the S. W. Transit Bus and Altus Public Library. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason.

Survivors include;
One Brother Harry Wagoner Altus Oklahoma
Two Nieces Donna Hughes Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Vicki Avant Altus, Oklahoma
One Nephew Denny Wagoner Lawton, Oklahoma
A host of great nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Wag Wagoner are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2000 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

The Family of W. E. (Wag) Wagoner will greet friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Thursday June 8, 2000 at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
