Obituary for Wiley D. Felty
Wiley D. Felty, age 53, of Altus, passed away Friday, December 8, 1995 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Wiley was born July 25, 1942, Aaron, near Olustee, Oklahoma. He was the son of Charles D. and Octava (Drury) Felty. He graduated from Altus High School in 1960 and went on to receive a B.S. degree in Agronomy from Oklahoma State University in 1964.
Wiley was involved in a family farming operation with his father since 1957 and his son since 1985.He served as Chairman of the Board for the Oklahoma Cotton Improvement Association, Treasurer of the Jackson County Farm Bureau, Chairman of the Southwest Oklahoma Adolescent Addict Rehabilitation Ranch, Treasurer of the National Cotton Council, Board Member of the Olustee Co-Op Association, U.S.D.A. Universal Cotton Standards Committee-Alternate, Advisory Board for the Import-Export Bank, Chairman of the Boll Weevil Eraducation Committee, and was a Oklahoma delegate for the Red River Compact Environmental committee through the Oklahoma Water Resource Board. Previously he served as the Producer Steering Committee Representative to the National Cotton Council from Oklahoma, the Producer and Director of the Cotton Council International and Treasurer of the National Cotton Council. He was a Reserve Deputy for the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, and served on various other boards and committees.
On April 9, 1994 he married Natalie Jones at Duke, Oklahoma. Survivors include, his wife, Natalie Felty of the home, his father and mother, Charles D. Felty and Octava Felty of Altus. One son; Keff D. Felty of Altus, one daughter, Amber Marshall and her husband Shawn of Altus, one granddaughter, sierra Sage Marshall of Altus, Six sisters, Charla Eason and her husband Dale of Yuba City, California, Alta Barker and her husband Dr. L.D. of Yukon, Oklahoma; Glenda Reinshagen and her husband Gene of Painted Post, NY, Laquita Reitenour and her husband Kent of Humpherys, Oklahoma, Anita Hamel and her husband of Durham, NH, and Jana Fager and her husband Cilfford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sixteen nieces and nephews, three great nieces and nephews and his mother and father-in-law Wayne and Barbara Jones of Altus also survive.
