Wiley Reginald Ellis, 93, long time resident of Altus died at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2:00pm at the Tabernacle Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Richard McDole. Burial will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, 1100 East Tamarack Road.

Ellis was born November 5, 1897 at Lauderdale, Mississippi and was the son of H.D. and Mollie Ellis. He married Lucille Graves February 14, 1929 at Walters, Oklahoma. Mr. Ellis farmed until his retirement and then was Groundskeeper at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital for many years. He has been a resident of Jackson County since coming here from Mississippi in 1908 and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include; his wife, Lucille Ellis of the home; one daughter and son-in-law; Margene and J.W. Squires of Terrell, Texas; a daughter-in-law; Helen Ellis of Springfield, Colorado, two sisters Madine Poole of Altus and Vera Sanford of Glenpool, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Chambrey, Corby, Katelin Mackey and Bleu Ellis.

He was preceded in death by a son; Charles Lindy Ellis in 1978, three brothers and six sisters.

The Family requests memorials be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church. They will receive friends at the Funeral Home Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
