Obituary for Willard O. Garvin Jr.
W. O. Garvin Jr. W. O. Garvin Jr. was born November 22, 1916 at Caney, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Willard O. and Minnie (Provence) Garvin. He died May 23, 2000. W. O. married Opal D. Seright April 22, 1936. W. O. Had been a resident of Altus and Jackson County since 1955, moving here from Hollis, Oklahoma. He worked for Copeland Brothers over 24 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and also served as an usher. Survivors include: Wife Opal D. Garvin Altus, Okla. 2 Sons Larry Garvin Kingfisher, Okla. Eddie & Shelly Garvin Blair, Okla. 3 Sisters Manota Atkins Visalia, Calif. India Price Ft. Worth, Texas Oneta Corley Payson, Arizona 1 Brother E. J. Garvin Denison, Texas 8 Grandchildren and one Great-Grandchild A host of other relatives and friends. W. O. was preceded in death by his parents, W. O. and Minnie Garvin, one sister, Opal Crow, Three brothers, Haskell , Buel, Roy Garvin. Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, May 26, 2000 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Internment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. The family of W. O. Garvin will greet friends at Lowell Tims Funeral Home, Thursday May 25, 2000 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
