Obituary for William Charles McCoy
William Charles "Bill" McCoy, 70, Hollis, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Colonial Manor II Nursing Home in Hollis.
Bill was born on June 3, 1954, in Oakland, California to Annie Belle McCoy. He grew up in Alabama and Hollis, Oklahoma and attended Hollis schools. He was well known for delivering "The Grit" and "Hollis News" newspapers for many years. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hollis. He was an avid Hollis sports fan and attended games as much as he could. Bill enjoyed doing puzzles and word searches, but he loved watching sports, especially the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
His mother preceded him in death.
Survivors include a brother, Bob McCoy; an uncle; two cousins; his church family; and many friends including special friends, Bart Kirchoff, Dee Phillips, Wendy White, Tim Tutten, Logan Reimer, and Marty and Janet Tipton.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, April 28, 2025, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Tutten officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery under the care of the Harmon County Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Harmon County Funeral Home to offset funeral costs.
