Funeral services for William Custer Freeman, 87 years, 8 months, and 17 days of Eldorado are scheduled for 2:00pm, Wednesday, April 21 at the Eldorado Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the Eldorado Cemetery. Rev. Mitch Wittington and Rev. Don Ladner will officiate. Mr. Freeman was born August 2, 1905 at Eldorado to Milford and Zada Freeman. He completed the 10th grade at Stringtown, Oklahoma and went to work at the rock quarry to support his family after his fathers death.
Mr. Freeman married Cora Neely August 8, 1926 in Eldorado. Custer spent his life farming, doing mechanic work, and was probably know best for his welding ability. In these latter years after his hearing deteriorated, he read a lot and especially liked Louis L'Amour books. Friends all over town took him books to read. Custer was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include wife Cora Freeman of the home; children, Johnny Freeman and Joy Nell of Eldorado, Oklahoma; Barbara Burge and husband David of Eldorado, Oklahoma; sisters Irene West of Altus, Oklahoma; Velma Crump of Demmit, Texas; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws; Kathryn and Pat Freeman of Eldorado, Oklahoma.
Preceded in death by parents, two sisters, one brother, two sons, Perry and Tommie Freeman and one grandson, Mika Scott Burge.
