William Hunter Pate age 86 of Duke, Oklahoma died June 28, 1964 at Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma. He was born February 19, 1875 in Alabama to William and Fannie (Thompson) Pate.
He came to Oklahoma in 1903, William was a retired farmer in the Duke area. He married Stella Velma September 28, 1902 and she preceded him in death January 25, 1956.
Funeral services for William Hunter Pate are scheduled for June 30, 1964 at 2:00pm in the Methodist Church, Duke, Oklahoma, officiated by Rev. Elbert Shumaker and Woodrow Yates. Burial will follow in the Hollis Cemetery, Hollis, Oklahoma.
William Hunter Pate is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Hill Pride, Fairmont, California; Mrs. Audrey Duke, Duke, Oklahoma; Mrs. David Westbrook, Altus, Oklahoma; Mrs. Ira Payne, Duke, Oklahoma; Miss Lorene Pate, Duke, Oklahoma; two sons, A.A. Pate, Duke, Oklahoma; L.H. Pate, Altus, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister Linnie Jenkins, Tuttle, Oklahoma; one brother J.L. Pate, Bakersfield, California.
