Obituary for William LeRoy Shipley
Mr. William LeRoy Shipley, age 49, of Altus, OK, died Sunday, February 11th, 1968 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Tims Chapel on Tuesday, February 13, 1968, 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Carl McCoy officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Cemetery under direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Shipley was married to the former Nora Jo Warner January 5, 1957 in Vernon, TX. He had lived in the Altus area since 1928. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a mechanic by trade. He was a member of the American Legion, W.O.W., Chamber of Commerce and he was a Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by: his wife of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Patrick Klunk of Suffolk, NY, Mrs. Eddie Berrons of Weatherford, OK, Mrs. William Murphy of Topeka, KS, Mrs. James Amick of Greenville, TX and Miss Terry Ann Shipley of the home; one son, Jimmy Shipley of the home; nine grandchildren; seven sisters, Mrs. M.M. Martin, Mrs. Delbert Chennault and Mrs. Ola Smith all of Altus, OK, Mrs. Albert Tidwell of Durant, OK, Mrs. Wilbur Chennault of Lawndale, CA, Mrs. Edward Placha of Woodinville, WA and Mrs. Wallace Fischel of Sherman, TX; several nieces and nephews.
