Obituary for William Leslie Spradlin
Funeral Services for William Leslie Spradlin, age 86, of Eldorado, Oklahoma, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 5th 1994, at the First Baptist Church of Eldorado. Burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. Rev. Mitch Whittington will officiate.
Mr. Spradlin passed away October 2nd, 1994 in Mangum. He was born July 7th, 1908, West of Eldorado in the Lincoln Community, Oklahoma to James Rett and Catherine L. (Fellers) Spradlin.
Mr. Spradlin married Georgie Pauline Thompson on May 22, 1926. Together they farmed wheat and cotton in the Eldorado area until his retirement in 1973. He became a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in 1922, then moved his membership to the Eldorado First Baptist Church after his retirement. He was a long-time board member of the Jackson County Farmers Union, Eldorado Farmer's Coop and the Jackson County Excise Board. Mr. Spradlin was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Georgie and her sister Ella Marie who was raised by them; two brothers, Aubrey and Carter Spradlin and his parents.
Survivors include: three brothers, J.R. Spradlin, Jr. of Eldorado, Oklahoma, E. J. Spradlin of New Deal, TX and Wayne Spradlin of Colorado City, CO; three sisters, Madalene Thompson and Bonnie White of Eldorado, Oklahoma and Olene King of Grandfield; a host of nieces and nephews; and a great host of friends.
