Obituary for William Melford Davison
William Milford Davison, age 74, a long-time resident of Altus, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008, at his home in Altus.
William was born in Hempfield, Pennsylvania on April 9, 1934 to James Harvey and Thais Anna (Sager) Davison. He married Wanda Davison on April 9, 1952 in Custer, South Dakota and she passed away in 2004 and later he married Ann Marie Vizzi in 2005 in Altus. William retired from the United States Air Force with an honorable discharge and also worked for the Civil Service as a Fire Department Trainer. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and was very active in the Shiners as a 32 degree Mason. William enjoyed traveling all across America with his wife Wanda for many years. He liked collecting antiques, especially ceramics and glass and also was an avid jogger and he would jog 3 to 5 miles every day. He loved animals; cats and dogs were his favorites and he would bring dog biscuits on his jogs to give out William enjoyed spending time with family and visiting with his grandchildren and he will be missed greatly.
Preceded in death by his wife Wanda L. Davison; his parents; three sisters, Sara C. Kolar; Nancy Kravanja; infant sister, Faye Davison; two grandchildren, Jimmie L. Davison and Claire DeLume Pilgrim. William is survived by his wife Ann Davison of Altus; two sons, Bill Davison and his wife Iris of Altus; Wayne Davison and his wife Chong Suk of Huntsville, Alabama; two step-children, Patrick Pilgrim and his wife Erica of Dallas; Joseph Pilgrim and his wife Modesty of Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Jim Davison and his wife Christina of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania; Bob Davison of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Stella Wood of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania; Thelma Mismas of Ruffsdale, Pennsylvania; Sandra Davison of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Kylie, Heaven, JoAnna, and Joseph; one great-grandson, Brandon and other great-grandchildren; one special niece, Brenda Suter and her husband Jeff of Ruffsdale, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Masonic Rites will be held at Altus City Cemetery on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.
