Obituary for Willie A. Gallop
Willie A. Gallop, 65 of Altus, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 1999 at Jackson County memorial Hospital.
He was born January 18, 1934 in Poplar Branch, North Carolina to the late Cleo Gallop Dunstance, who preceded him in death in 1992. He joined the Christian Advocate Baptist Church in Poplar Branch, North Carolina , at an earl age. He graduated from Curritick Union High School in 1952. During his high school years, he was an avid basketball player. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served 20 years as a security policeman.
Willie and Frances "Aline" Williams were united in marriage on April 9, 1971 in Vernon, Texas. After military retirement, Willie joined the Altus Police Department and served 23 years and retied March of 1996 as Lieutenant. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a financial secretary for many years. He was a 33rd Degree Mason, member of Golden Limit Consistory # 133, Past Master of St. James Lodge #229, member of James Crane Chapter #37, Holy royal Arch Masons, Worthy Patron of Lily of the Valley Chapter #135, Order of the Eastern Star and Worth Joshua of Myrtle B. Scott Court #78 Heroines of Jericho.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of the home, Frances "Aline" Gallop, honorable mother, Adgenora Case of Jarnisburg, N.C.; three children, Veronica Dubose of Vallejo, California, Joseph Gallop, of Hercules, California, and Willie Gallop Jr. of Vallejo, California; four step-children, June Lee of Altus, Valerie Robinson of Lakenheath, England, Patricia Valmore of Houston, Texas and Charles Jackson of Dallas, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers,
Fleetwood Dunstance, Jr. of Atlanta GA. and Myron Dunstnce of Chapel Hill, N.C. one sister-in-law, Mildred Neely and husband, Thomas of Lompor, CA; one brother-in-law, Junious Williams, Jr. of Altus and a host of relatives and special friends.
Masonic rites and formal visitation are scheduled for Sunday, March 14, 1999 at 6:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home chapel.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 15, 1999 at 2:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 5, 199 at 2:00pm at Lowell-Tims funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Bostic officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
