Obituary for Willie Buckner Sr.
Willie Buckner, Sr. Age 68 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away August 18, 1999 in Wichita falls, Texas. He was born February 8, 1931 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to the late Willie James and Nina Opal (Lee) Buckner. Willie attended Linclon High School and Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He worked for Civil Service as an Electrician for over twenty-eight years before retiring. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After retiring Willie enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 24, 1999 at 2:00pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marion V. Lee of E lPaso, Texas officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Buckner, five daughters, Wilma Monday, Dorothy Buckner, Della porter, Beverly Smith, Jasma Buckner-G, three sons, Franklin Buckner, Howard Buckner, Delbert Buckner; six step-children, Waria Bond, Jerry Bradford, Billy Bradford, Melody Bradford, James Bradford, Garry Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Willie Buckner, Jr. one daughter, Gladys Marie Goodlow, two brothers, Louie Buckner and Franklin Buckner.
