Obituary for Willie Estelle Woodall
Willie Estelle Woodall, 87, passed away Sunday April 15, 2012, at a care center in Fort Worth.
Graveside services, 1:00PM, Monday, April 23, at Blair Cemetery in Blair, Oklahoma., Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. A musical gathering dedicated to her memory will be held at 6pm Saturday, April 28, at the Dan Echols Senior Center in North Richland Hills. Memorials in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be given to a charity of choice or to Odyssey Hospice, 2630 West Freeway, Suite 102, Fort Worth, Texas 76102.
She was born November 7, 1924, in Caddo, Oklahoma, to Ector and Violet Kennedy. Her current residence was in Benbrook. She was married over 53 years to James T. "Woody" Woodall, who preceded her in death in 1992. Their life together began in Altus, Oklahoma on August 5, 1939. In 1948, they moved to Dumas, Texas, and returned to Altus after retirement. Estelle was a beautician and owned her own beauty shop for a number of years in Dumas. She was especially proud to be responsible for coordinating the senior citizens' dances in Altus, along with performing in the band. She was also an accomplished crochet artist.
In 2000, Estelle married Tommy Burger and moved to Burlenson, where they enjoyed associating with local musicians. Tommy preceded her in death in 2011.
Survivors include son, James Woodall and his wife, Linda, of Round Rock; daughter, Anita Palmer and her husband, Jerry, of Benbrook; brother, J.W. Kennedy and his wife, Marcella, of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Leslie, Daren, Kara and Brandy; and her great-grandchildren, Riley, Mia, Ian, Ainsley and Jacob.
