Obituary for Yada Fluty
Yada Fitzgerald Fluty, age 101, died Tuesday at a Jones, OK Nursing Facility. Graveside services have been set for Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Born December 15th, 1886 at Cottondale in Wise County, TX, she moved with her pioneer parents James and Julia Fitzgerald to the Hess area in 1890. Soon after the turn of the century she taught at Olustee School. She married Charles Allen Fluty December 20, 1904 at Hess. For many years they owned and operated a boarding house from the University of Oklahoma. At the age of 87 Mrs. Fluty returned to the University taking several creative writing courses. She was a published writer of Poetry and Short Stories. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son Charles Angus Fluty.

Survivors include: two grandchildren, Cynthia Akin of Nacoma Park, OK and James E. Fluty of Norman; two nieces, Helen Shafer of Altus and Mary Lynn Jensen of Sneeds Ferry, NC; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a close personal friend, Dr. Joe Kelly.
