Yvonne Eley Bamburg, a resident of Dothan passed away Tuesday morning, April 26, 2005 in Columbus, Georgia at the age of 67.

Celebration of Life for Mrs Bamburg will be held at 2 pm Thursday, April 28, 2005 at the Southern Heritage chapel in Dothan, Alabama with Rev. Clayton Jordan officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, May 1. 2005 in Altus Municipal Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, PO Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302 or the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main Street Suite 3, Dothan, AL. 36301-1244.

Mrs Bamburg was Born August 31, 1937 in Altus, Ok. to James and Mary Eley. She lived the majority of her life in Oklahoma and was a graduate of Cameron University having pursued a degree in Criminal Justice. Mrs Bamburg spent her life in law enforcement. She moved to Dothan in 1998 and worked for Houston County as a corrections officer. Mrs Banburg was a member at First United Methodist Church where she was where she was active in the singles department.

Her parents preceded Mrs. Bamburg in death.

Survivors include five daughters and three sons-in-law, Terry Shirley, Venus, TX. Darlene and Joe McAleese, Hatfield, PA. Elizabeth Morgan, Dallas TX., Laurie and Travis Perry, Dothan, Tracey and Sam Molina, Columbus GA/ Two sons,m Billy Don Shirley, Lawton Ok. Nathan Shirley, Altus, Ok Twelve grandchildren; and tow sisters, Billie Ann Beckner, Devol, OK. Mary Beth Eley, Ft. Worth TX.
