Obituary for Zadie Lou Fisher
Zadie Lou Fisher, age 86, passed away Thursday, October 31st, 2002, in Altus, Oklahoma. Services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2002, at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Brent Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Lou was born June 24, 1916, in Salem, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Walter Franklin and Lue Vice Elizabeth (Piercy) Calhoun. On November 15, 1933, Lou and Arvin "A.R." Fisher were united in marriage. They lived their early years together in Morris, Oklahoma. She was a dedicated homemaker until the death of her husband in 1970. At that time, she enrolled in a Home Nursing class. She received her Pin and worked in this for the next ten years. She was proud that she learned to drive and bought her first car in order to be able to go to work.

She lived at the Parkridge Estates for many years and had the distinction of being one of the Estates original residents. Lou's happy, fun-loving personality enabled her to make friends easily. One special friend was Earl Prestidge. They enjoyed daily games of Dominoes. She was known as the "Dominoes Champion". In August of 2001, Lou moved to Plantation Village Center. She enjoyed the social life there and was a regular winner at Bingo. As was normal, she made fast friends of the residents and the staff.

One of Lou's talents was her ability to express her love through her poetry, of which her family was always the subject. The words came straight from her heart.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband A.R. "Pops" Fisher; and by six sisters.

She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ellen Faye Sanders and her husband John, of Yukon, Oklahoma, Ralph Dale Fisher and his wife Linda Kay, of Mid-Lotham, Texas, Linda Gail Fletcher and husband, Jim of Altus, Oklahoma and Ben Ray Fisher and wife Charlotte, also of Altus; her grandchildren, Johnny Dale Sanders and wife Lynn of Norman, Oklahoma, Debbie Raye Corley and husband Ken of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Bill Sanders and wife Jenny of Oklahoma City, Jerry Dale Fisher and wife Diane of Mid Lotham, Texas, David Wayne Fisher, also of Mid Lotham, James Aaron Fletcher and wife Donna of Altus, Oklahoma, Tammy Gail Grayson and husband J.C., of Lawton, Oklahoma, Benny Ray Fisher and wife Janet of Mineral Wells, Texas, Natalie Sue Thornton and husband Brent, of Miami, Texas, and Jennifer Lou Fisher of Altus, Oklahoma. Also surviving are one sister, Mamie Weaver; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and numerous friends.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
