Marie Williams, age 95, a lifelong resident of Harmon County Oklahoma, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at the Wellington Assisted Living in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Marie was born in Hollis, Oklahoma on March 25, 1922 to her parents Lunsford and Lillian (Pritchard) Jordan. She grew and lived all her life in Harmon County and graduated from Arnett High School in 1938 as the class Salutatorian at the age of sixteen. Shortly after high school Marie married the love of her life R.C. Williams on October 28, 1939 in Hollis and they enjoyed over 67 years of marriage before R.C."s death in 2006. Marie and R.C. worked the land of Harmon County as farmers and ranchers and she was a member of the Martin Church of Christ and the Dodson Church of Christ. Marie enjoyed quilting and would make a quilt for every child in her family. She also enjoyed camping and fishing and family was always the most important to Marie and she always loved her family very much.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R.C.; her daughter, Carolyn McEndree; her brother, Glenn Jordan; and one grandson, Dustin Williams; Marie is survived by three children, Donna Simco of Ft. Worth, Texas; Nolan Williams and wife Ruth of North Richland Hills, Texas; and Steve Williams also of North Richland Hills, Texas; nine grandchildren, Debbie Simco; Dawn Corbett and husband Ed; Earl Williams and wife Michelle; Aron Williams; Darla Johnson and husband Tim; Kim Boone and husband Allen; Darryll McEndree and wife Erin; Brandon Williams and wife Heather; Autumn Syrus and husband Joey; seventeen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
The family of Marie Williams will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis.
The Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Dodson Church of Christ in Dodson, Texas with Don Cary officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
