Obituary for Shirley Nan Skaats
Shirley Nan Skaats, age 71 of Hollis, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis
Nan was born in Clovis, New Mexico, on August 14, 1948, one of five daughters, to her parents John and Leona (Bull) Stallings. As a young girl Nan was raised between California and Oklahoma. On July 1, 1966 Nan married Butch Skaats in Wellington, Texas and they have enjoyed over 53 years of marriage together. As newlyweds Nan stayed in Hollis as Butch was deployed to Vietnam. After he got back home they lived in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and then back to Hollis and the Army brought them to Fort Hood, Texas. After the Army they lived Wichita Falls and Abilene, Texas and later moved back to Hollis where Nan and Butch have resided for the past 31 years. She enjoyed working on her family genealogy with her sisters but most of all Nan loved her family and she took care of her husband and her two sons and she will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents Nan is survived by her husband Butch of the home; her two sons, Earnie Dean Skaats, Jr. and his wife Lorrie of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Johnny Skaats and his wife Elizabeth of Hollis; four sisters, Betty McNeil of California; Ginger Vann of Hollis; Carol Winger and her husband Tom of Hollis; and Pat Brook and her husband Harold of Florida; five grandchildren, Nick, Breana, Sebastian, Earnie, III, and Mia; four great grandchildren, Landon, Payton, Braxton, and Kamden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Harmon County Funeral Chapel in Hollis
